Digoxin
A
- Rate control in pts w/ A-fib, and improves symps in CHF
- Contra-indicated for MI bc can increase O2 demand

B-blockers
A
- Improves mortality in MI, but not if pulm edema
- OD: brady, HoTN, wheezing, seizures, cardiogenic shock (Tx: IV fluids, atropine, IV glucagon)

Spironolactone
A
- Use for chronic mgt of CHF
- K-sparing diuretic
- Inhibits aldosterone

Verapamil
A
- Ca channel blocker used for HTN and SVT
- 2nd line drug for angina
- Not indicated for acute MI or CHF

Furosemide
A
Can be used in acute MI if pulmonary edema is present

Amlodipine
A
- Dihydropyridine Ca channel blocker for HTN
- Can cause reflex tachy (don’t use for MI, CHF)
