Cardiac Markers Flashcards
Cardiac Markers
Creatinine Kinase, Troponin
Creatine Kinase Isoenzyme
CK1 (BB) 0 %; CK2 (MB) 0-5 %; CK3 (MM) 95 - 100 %
CK1 (BB)
Brain; 0%
CK2 (MB)
Heart; 1st enzyme to rise after MI; remains elevated for 72 hrs; 0 - 5 %
CK3 (MM)
Skeletal Muscle; 95 - 100 %
Troponin
0.0 - 0.3 ng/mL; Critical > 0.3 ng/mL (d/t AMI or other cardiac injury)
Troponin Subunits
Troponin I, Troponin C, Troponin T; This is a more cardiac specific
Troponin I
Myocardial necrosis; after MI remains elevated for 7 days
Troponin C
Least cardiac specific
Troponin T
Cardiac specific but may be elevated with renal & skeletal muscle dz
