What does CKMB measure?
Any damage to cardiac muscle
percentage < 5% indeterminate of cardiac muscle damage
Peak 24-48 hours later than injury
What does Troponin measure?
Any damage to cardiac muscle.
Peaks 1-2 hours
What is normal Troponin level?
< 0.04
What is BNP?
Enzyme produced when cardiac muscle stretched.
What are BNP values?
<100 has little to no evidence of current CHF.
Btw 100-400, early CHF
Over 400, indicative of CHF
What hematological labs drawn for cardiac patients?
CBC with diff
RBC, WBC, Platelets
What electrolyte/chemistry panels done on cardiac patient?
Potassium Sodium Calcium Renal function A1C
What coagulation studies done on cardiac patient?
PT/INR
APTT
activated coagulation time
What is normal INR rate?
1 if not on anticoagulants
- 5 - 3 if on coagulant
- 5 - 2 if artificial heart valves
(2 =half clotting ability of someone with INR of 1)
What lipid studies are done on cardiac patient?
Total cholesterol
LDL
VLDL
HDL
What is normal value for HDL?
> 45
What is normal value for LDL?
<160
What is normal for VLDL/triglyceride?
<190
