Q

Talking about the future

A

We use a time expression indicating a future time period + the present form of the verb to express future actions. This presents a future action as certain and under control. We are talking about something we know and that will happen:

Mañana = voy a San Pedro (I’m going to San Pedro)

El mes que viene = regreso a la República Dominicana (I am going back to DR.

El 15 de julio = vamos al teatro (we are going to the theater)

La próxima semana = nos reunimos con Marco (we are meeting Marco

Express future actions:
use ir a + infinitive

(yo) voy a + infinitive

El próximo año VAMOS A HACER un viaje por el norte de la isla = Next year WE’RE GOING TO MAKE a trip in the north of the island.
