CANTIDADES Flashcards

Q

Contables e incontables. Much and Many. There is/are.

A

Contables = Plural = botellas, manzanas, etc.
Incontables = Singular = dinero, agua, etc.

Los usamos para expresar cantidades normalmente junto a THERE IS (singular/incontable) o THERE ARE (plural/contable). There is/are significa que algo existe (hay…). Y much/many significa MUCHO de algo.

There are many bottles
There is much water.

There are A LOT of bottles
There is A LOT of water

Pronunciación: ALÁRAF (a lot of)

EXCEPCIÓN: Cuando en lugar de expresar MUCHO usamos MUCH/MANY para preguntar sobre “Cuanta cantidad” de algo hay, ahí sí q debemos usarlos, al preguntar con HOW:

How much water do you drink?
How many bottles do you have?
