Describe the dose/effects for cannabinoids.
Low-dose (3-4 mg): mild sedation, disinhibition, mild disorientation. High-dose (15 mg): tachy, postural hypotension, CNS depression, aniety, perceptual disturbances, psychotic symptoms
How do cannabinoids work?
Psychoactive drug with central sympathomimetic anc antiemetics properties. Acts on central/peripheral nervous system (CB1) and immune cells (CB2). Augments dopamine release.
What are the effects of cannabinoids?
CNS: ataxia, impaired judgement, CNS depression, coma in children. CVS: tachy, orthostatic hypotension, syncope. Psychiatric: agitation, hallucinations, acute psychosis, euphoria. Respiratory: pneumothorax, pneumomediastinum
What can be a serious effect of cannabinoids in children?
Coma for up to 36 hours
What are the effects of cannabinoids on children?
Rapid onset coma, hypotonia, abnormal movements, tachycardia and bradycardia lasting 24-36 hours
