A

Rabies

A

Killed virus vaccine, given at 2-3 months and good for a year, then good for 1 or 3 years. Animal that bites a human must be quarantined and vaccinated or euthanized.

Lepto vaccine

A

Non-core vaccine, usually only given if at risk. Less than 6 months immunity has been reported, high incidence of reaction, not recommend in puppies under 9 weeks.

A

Non-core, usually given if only at risk. Given at 12 weeks of age, then bolstered. Animal can develop stiffness or soreness after vaccine.

Bordetella

A

Non-core, usually given in boarded pets. May cough after vaccine given. IN has shorter immunity, can be given at 2-4 weeks of age, animal should be reboostered at 4 months if given at under 4 weeks. SQ given at 12 weeks, then bolstered, then once a year.
