What is Adenovirus
A
> Can infect domesticated dogs, wild canids and bears
Caused by non enveloped DNA virus
Can survive in environment for months especially in cold

A
4-9 days

How is Adenovirus transmitted
A
Through contact with urine,feces or saliva in enviornment
> Replicates in tonsils, spread to lymph nodes then to blood stream-tissue-liver-kidney-spleen-lung-eye

A
> seen in dogs less than a year old > Tonsillitis > Fever > Hepatic dysfunction > Hepatitis
