Locally invasive malignant tumour of keratinocytes that rarely metastasis

Nodule with surface telangiectasia and a pearly rolled edge
May have ulcerated or necrotic centre
Management of BCC
Surgical excision
Radiotherapy if surgery not appropriate
If low risk - cryotherapy

ABCDE symptoms for skin cancers
Asymmetry Border irregular Colour irregular Diameter >6mm Evolution (rapid change in size or shape) Symptoms e.g bleeding, itching
A,C,E = HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS
Management of malignant melanoma
Surgical excision
Chemo for mets
What determines likelihood of melanoma recurrence
Recurrence increases with increasing Breslow thickness
