What is malignant cancer

A
  • A malignant tumour grows quickly, will invade other tissues and can break off and spread around causing tumour - life threatening

A

tumour grows slowly and is kept in one place - don’t invade other tissues

A

Chemotherapy - prevents synthesis of enzymes required for dna replication
Radiotherapy - cell killed
Drugs - prevent spindle fibres - prevents mitosis
