Canada’s economy prospered because the need for war materials created jobs.
How did the federal government help to finance the war?
They sold victory bonds.

What was the conscription crisis of 1942?
Prime Minister Mackenzie King forced enlistment in the army - Quebec voted against conscription while the rest of Canada voted in favour of it.
Where did most people immigrate from after WWII?
Western Europe - Italy, Greece, Germany
What is the Baby Boom?
A period of increased birth rate after WWII - due to the return of soldiers and increase in marriages, as well as greater economic prosperity and lower infant mortality rates.
What was the Construction Boom?
New houses were built and cities continued to be urbanized; more families so they needed more houses
