A

A

Have to right to a legal defense. Can hear evidence against you. Innocent until proven guilty. Double Jeopardy - can’t be tried twice for the same crime.

A

You can say what you want (apart from inciting hatred or violence) but obviously people can say whatever back in response including “That’s stupid” “I don’t like you” etc etc

What does the human rights act mean? What can the Judiciary do to prevent it

A

Government can’t act against its provisions. This includes anything government led or funded or controlled etc. However laws can be passed that break it all the Judiciary can do is tell the government it will breach the human rights act.

A

They have the bill of rights. The constitution is the ultimate authority. Congress cannot pass laws that violate the constitution.

A

Parliamentary Sovereignty. Parliament can make whatever laws they want. No parliament can bind its successor (all laws made can be unmade later).
