Call Outs Flashcards
Standard emergency briefing
If we have an engine fire or failure prior to V1, the pilot noting the malfunction will call “ABORT, ABORT” and I (Captain) will abort the takeoff.
If you see any other malfunction, bring it to my attention, and I will state “ABORT, ABORT” OR “CONTINUE”

Stabilized Approach CFM Chapter 4
- The airplane is on the correct track
2. The airplane is in proper landing configuration
3. After glidepath, or after FAF, the PF requires no more than normal corrections
4. Airplane at proper approach speed, engines spooled up
Planned VAPP+10, no less than VREF
5. Rate of decent no greater then 1000 FPM unless briefed
6. Power setting appropriate for landing - PM verify stabilized approach criteria and call out “ 1000 Feet above___Stabilzed
Or “1000 feet, go-around” - PM call out deviations approaching 1000 feet AFE
- At no point except roll out or flare should throttles be at idle

Cleared for ILS Approach- Press APPROACH MODE
CAT II Approach
IF CAPT doesn’t say anything at minimumsGO AROUND
Minimums: Radio Altimeter, decision height (DH), or Inner Marker, whichever comes first
CAT 2 MIN RVR Requirements:
1200
600
300
Where is FMA Located and what does it display?
At top of Pilot’s PFD
Displays: Lateral Mode on Top/ Vertical Mode on
How Do we derive DDA for CANPA?
ADD 50 Feet to MDA, to avoid busting MDA for a Go Around
CANPA cannot be done if FAF and GS don’t align or no descent chart
What does Pushing TOGA button do on a GO AROUND?
-Disconnects AP
-Commands Flight Director to 10 degree Pitch Up
-Commands Heading Hold to current heading
- Limits Flight Director steering commands to 5 degrees
-Sequences Missed Approach
When do thrust Reversers Need to Be Stowed?
60 knots
When do we not use FLEX
-Engine cannot produce enough thrust -Contaminated Runway -Windshear -Using Anti-Ice -One or more channels of Anti-Skid off
6 Required Items on a Release
-FLIGHT # -TAIL # -FLIGHT RULES (IFR/VFR) -ALL AIRPORT (DEPT, ARR, ALT) -MIN FUEL -MEL/CDL
What does AWU mean
Adjusted Weight Unit
