Why are you interested in this summer internship with Caledonia investment?
A
- One reason in particular
- Begun investing, picking and choosing stocks
- Want to build confidence in my investment decisions and strategy
- Therefore, want to learn from Caledonia Investment team, and their criteria for picking stocks and methods of critically assessing companies
- that has led them to successfully grow their dividend consecutively for the last 57 years.
- Additionally
- aim to partake in a graduate programme
- this internship not only a nice thing to add to my portfolio
- but a opportunity to develop my interpersonal skills and learn more about the financial services industry
- I have heard great things from previous candidates who had done the same internships, Izzy and Elliot, and they explained how it was a unique but valuable experience.

- Thank you for interviewing
- Describe myself: committed, loyal, adaptable worker, seeking opportunities to develop
- Recently graduated from Swansea University, which I enjoyed
- Experienced in customer facing roles, where collaboration has been norm
- Before committing to a tech career path, exploring my options in particular the finance sector, learning about business functions available.
- To consolidate career path, gaining experiences and talking and learning is important to develop my ideas
- Therefore this internship not only opportunity to develop my skills, but also build network and learn more about corporate investments and financial services sector.

What do you do in your free time?
A
- Now that graduated, given an abundance of free time
- Aside from part-time work
- Spend my free time trying to develop myself and experience new things to develop my career goals
- Currently working on a couple coding projects, one of which is a finance application tracker utilising my programming and database skills but also to learn more about data management and analysis
- Additionally long book list of financial and investment books
- Currently reading millionaire Fastlane, which discusses the different mindsets when it comes to making money
- has been a wake up call to me
- Some other books on my list is value investing, Warren Buffet’s autobiography and many more.
- Aside from training my brain I like to train my body
- Taking part in regular exercise
- Lifting weights and the gym to build up my strength and resilience, I also do 5k running which for me is long distance, but I know others may have different definitions
- To relax, aside from socialising with friends, I am an avid F1 fan, enjoy the racing and behind the scene action/drama.
- I enjoy the competitive element and the lengths each team will go to succeed

A
- Key strength is adaptability to new situation/environment
- My friends describe me as very considerate
- I think because of my open minded nature
- I am easily able to understanding and considering others thoughts and opinions
- Therefore I am very conscious of how my actions can affect others

What are your weaknesses
A
- Recent feedback, anticipate problems
- But for me something I would like to improve is my confidence in speaking
- Despite doing lots of prep I am still not at the level I want to be
- This may be me setting high standards for myself but at the end of the day I know myself best, and I know I have even more potential to improve my public speaking ability.
- So during this internship, I look forward to the personal development but also the dragons’ den presentation, which will be an excellent opportunity to build upon this confidence

- Through my experiences in hospitality and retail developed my communication skills
- working together to reach common goals
- but is course something that always has room for improvement

- very much a team player, putting the teams goal first and supporting others in their goals

- I am ready to work in new environments and always open to constructive and guidance to help me develop

- I believe I am a great candidate for this internship because
- i am eager to learn more about the financial services industry as it is a career path I am quite interested in persuing
- From my computer science degree I have built a strong foundation of problem solving and analytical skills and I am excited to see how I can incorperate that in the financial services industry
- but also how I can develop myself further to make myself a strong candidate for future employment opportunites
- With my technical mindset and strong collaboration skills I am confident that I will be of great value and build strong relationships with your team.

- Although confident working independently to research and complete my tasks
- I prefer to collaborate and work and learn from others
- Learn from others experience is much more valuable to me

- I enjoy discussing about multiple viewpoints and ideas
