Q

What is a secant

A

A secant is a line joining two distinct points on a curve.

The secant’s slope gives us the rate of change between two points.

Q

What is the formula of slope

A

( f(b) - f(a) ) / ( b - a )

a and b should should to “very close” to approximate the change. If they are far, it will give incorrect value.

The tangent’s slope approximates the rate of change for a function at a point
