Q

what is percent weight volume

A

another variation of percentage weight volume is weight/volume. this variation measures the amount of solute in grams but measures the amount of solution in milliliters

Q

What is Normaility

A

measure of concentration equal to the gram equivalent weight per litre of solution

Normality = n*Molarity
n=number of H+ in acid and OH- in salt

Q

What is gram equivalent weight

A

measure of the reactive capacity of a molecule

equivalent weight= molecular mass/number of H+ ions
Gram equivalent= mass of solute/ equivalent weight

Q

How to calculate the normaility of a solution

A
  1. find the equivalent weight of the solute based on chem reaction
  2. calculate no. of gram equivalent of solute
  3. calculate volume in litre
