Calcium is regulated by:

A
  • PTH: brings Ca ↑, by releasing it from bones & enhancing Ca reabsorption in kidneys
  • Calcitonin (PTH antagonist) brings Ca ↓. Inhibits bone breakdown, promotes kidney excretion of Ca
  • Vit D: ↑ D = ↑ absorption of Ca in small intestine
