What is canine social/impulse control aggression?
Determine of defend hierarchy roles in groups
What is canine territorial aggression?
Fighting or defending what they believe is their territory
What is canine pain or fear induced aggression?
Stimulated by severe pain, or anticipation of pain
What is canine sexual related aggression?
Male competition over mates, or injuring animal during breeding
What is canine maternal aggresion?
Female protecting her young
What is canine predatory aggression?
Attacking to obtain food, chasing small animals or moving objects
What is canine learned aggression?
Dog trained to attack, or previous aggression is rewarded
What is canine redirected aggression?
An aggressive state in a dog caused by something they cannot reach (another dog, stimuli), that is redirected onto a person/animal not involved in the cause of the aggression
What is canine play aggression?
Snapping and growling while playing
What is canine idiopathic aggression?
Aggressive behaviour that is truly unprovoked, unpredictable, violent, and uncontrolled
What is canine food aggression/guarding?
Dog becomes aggressive around their food, protecting it from others
What is feline aggression as a result of lack of socialization?
Missed exposure during socialization period (first 3 months of life)
What is feline play aggression?
Kittens that have never learned to be gentle while playing
What is feline fear aggression?
Aggression due to fear, is overly defensive
