C4 Flashcards
How do you find out the concerntration of solutions?
Concentration (in mol/L) = Amount of solute (in moles) / Volume of solvent (in liters).
What is the concerntration?
Concentration measures the amount of solute dissolved in a solvent.
What is percentage composition?
The percentage by mass of each element in a compound.
How do you find out the percentage composition?
Percentage Composition = (Mass of element / Molar mass of compound) × 100%.
What is the Limiting Reagent?
The reactant that is completely consumed in a chemical reaction, limiting the amount of product formed.
How do you find the Limiting Reagent?
Determine the moles of each reactant and compare the amount of product produced from each reactant.
What is the molar mass? (Molecular Weight)
The mass of one mole of a substance, measured in grams per mole (g/mol).
How do you find the molar mass?
Molar Mass = Sum of atomic masses of all atoms in the compound.
What is Stoichiometry?
Stoichiometry deals with the calculation of reactants and products in chemical reactions based on the balanced equation.
How do you use Stoichiometry?
Use balanced chemical equations to relate the number of moles of reactants and products.
Pressure & Volume of gas = (number of moles of gas * ideal gas
