What are forums?

A

Website where users can post message which can then be responded to by other forums users to take part in a discussion.
They are looked after moderators - if they don’t keep an eye, inappropriate comments. Content can be left, if they are too into the moderation can make people fee like they ain’t got freedom of speech

    -Availability: Can it be accessed. Some online communities have restricted access
  • Accessibility: Can the online community with disabilities easily make use of the platforms

Users make use of online communities for different reasons, therefore different online communities meet different needs in different ways.
Therefore, Online communities should be able to meet the needs of each user, as well as accessibility needs for user with disability e.g

They are very affordable for individuals for use. Most of the time they are completely free to make use of it.
However due to it being free of charge, there is a lot of advertising.
Main cost involved is for internet connection, if you making use of 4G that can be very costly for people that uses it a lot
