What is an online community?
A group of people who use the internet to communicate over a shared interest

What is a blog?
Also know as a weblog. A regularly updated website, normally written in an informal style. Used by people to share news and commentary on topic of interest
What are microblogs ?
A type of blog designed for short text messages - known as microposts

What are Vlogs
A video form of blogging. Users posts videos of themselves, often sharing news, opinions on a topic

YouTube
A benefit of Blogs, Microblogs and Vlogs
Source of income. As users build a large audience they get paid to advertise
What are Wikis
A website where content is created by a community of users. Users collaborate together to add new content as well as to edit each other content with updated information.

What are Chatrooms?
Website that allow online communities to communicate via short messages on a shared topic of interests.
A benefit of chatrooms ?
It is real time therefore chats can be sent and replied in the moment
A drawback of chatrooms ?
No filtering therefore cannot avoid inappropriate content
