Q

Name the characteristics of all carbonates.

A
  • Have the carbonate ion CO(3)2-
  • All decompose on heating to produce the oxide and carbon dioxide
(Except potassium carbonate and sodium carbonate)
  • Reacts with acids to produce a salt, carbon dioxide and water

Q

How do we manufacture lime from limestone?
