C1 Revision Flashcards
In a circuit what is everything measured in?
Current- Amps - ammeter
Charge- coulombs
Potential difference- volts- voltmeter
Resistance- ohms
What happens when the resistance is higher?
The smaller the current flows
How do you calculate things on a circuit?
Q= It
Q- charge
I- current
T- time
How do you calculate potential difference?
V= I x R
What is an ammeter?
Messes the current in amps which is shared between branches and must always be placed in a series
What is the voltmeter?
Measures potential difference which is the same across all components and must always be placed in parallel circuits
What three things affect the current?
The temperature
The thickness of the wire
How long the wire is
What direction shows an ohmiques conductor?
Bottom left to top right
What direction shows a filament lamp?
Bottom left to top right curve
What direction shows a diode?
Top right curve on the x axis
What is the difference between series and parallel circuits?
Series is one circle
Parallel is multiple
How do you calculate energy transferred?
E=Q x V
How do you calculate power?
P= V x I
How do you calculate kinetic energy?
Ek = 1/2 x M x V(2)
How do you calculate gpe?
Ep = mgh
