Define Command and Control, and discuss the following
Command and control (C2): Exercise of authority and direction by commander over forces to accomplish mission
OPCON
over all aspects of military operations and joint training necessary to accomplish the mission
TACON
Tactical Control (TACON): authority for controlling and directing the application of force or tactical use of combat support assets within the assigned mission. TACON is inherent in OPCON.
ADCON
Administrative Control (ADCON): organization of service forces, control of resources and equipment, personnel management, unit logistics, individual or unit training, readiness, mobilization, demobilization, discipline, and other matters not included in operational missions
Coordinating Authority
Coordinating Authority: coordinates specific functions or activities involving forces of two or more military departments. This authority is a consultation relationship, not a command one.
DIRLAUTH
Direct liaison authority (DIRLAUTH): consult or coordinate with a command or agency
Discuss COC under Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS)
