- Used by NSWP in lawful execution of duties. Use judgement, be obvious, overt.
- Use to record events, incidents, evidence.
- Supports conventional forms of evidence gathering, not replace.
- Securely processed and managed with legislation/policy
- NSWP to provide general information to public on BWV.

When to use?
- When would normally use notebook to record info.
- Capture and record relevant material
- When exercising power or function
- First response crime and incident investigation.
- Licensed premises inspections/patrols
- Anti-social behaviour
- Vehicle stops
- Relevant conversations with members of public
- investigations, incidents, criminal proceedings, valuable info
- Situations of use of force
- NOT warrant entries.
