Bv Lec 1 Flashcards
4 conditions of normal binocular vision
Equal ocular images
Bifoveal fixation at all distance and gaze
Motor fusion at all distance and gaze
Sensory fusion at all distance and gaze
3 levels of sensory fusion
1 Retinal rivalry or bifoveal perception
2 physiological diplopia
3 stereopsis
How to get equal ocular images
Same size, shape, contrast, colour, clarity
Conditions for bifoveal fixation at all distances and gazes
Accuracy within panning fusional area
AC/A must be similar for equality in distances
Comitancy for equality in gazes
The condition for motor fusion is
Acquiring and maintaining single clear comfortable BV over varying distances and gazes
So means getting bifoveal fixation without stressing accommodation and or vergence
