Because of all the wild animals like cheetahs,lions and leopards etc…
Why was Bertie’s mom so depressed?
She had malaria and wanted to go back and live in England because she hated the the wild and loneliness.
What did Bertie see at the waterhole?
He saw a lioness with her white lion cub.
Why was Bertie’s dad so happy and he was so sad?
Bertie’s dad was happy because he had shot the lioness but Bertie was sad because he had realized that the lion his dad had shot was the mother of the white lion cub so it had now been orphaned all alone in the wild.
What did Bertie decide?
Bertie decided that if the white lion cub came back to find his dead mother he would open the gate and bring him home.
