Burn protocol

A

I- 3 degree burns to >20% TBSA

  1. Stop burning
  2. Assess airway, give O2
  3. Hypothermia prevention
  4. BP >90mmHg -> no = Hemorrhagic shock Protocol
  5. Burn mgt - cover burns in dry sterile dressing
  6. Calculate TBSA
  7. Establish IV access
  8. Initiate Rule of Ten/ Parkland for pedes
  9. Pain protocol
  10. Contact SMA, foley for prolonged tsp/ decreased LOC

A
