A

Epidermis and upper dermis
Extremely painful with blisters
Minimal to go scarring
5-21 days

Deep partial thickness burn

A

Complete destruction of epidermis and majority of dermis
Discolored with broken blisters and edema
Nerve ending damage = mod pain
Hypertrophic or keloid scar
If no infection 21-35 days

Full thickness burns

A

Complete destruction of epidermis and dermis along with partial damage to the subcutaneous fat layer
Eschar with min pain
Require grafts, susceptible to infection
Couple of weeks dep on size

A

May involve muscle and bone
Multiple surgeries and extensive healing time
