In order to ensure they do not have:
- any previous knowledge of Milgrams study
- to ensure they did not have any psychological issues

A
Baseline experiment, procedure similar to Milgrams

A
Modelled refusal, where another confederate posed as another co-participant and faked a refusal.

Name the five steps of Burgers study?
A
- Screening process (over the phone interview + face to face interview)
- Set up, involves the participant SEEING the confederate being strapped in.
- Experiment begins. After a few shocks, the confederate reveals a heart problem.
- Second confederate backs out, and the reaction of the participant is observed
- stopped at 150 volts.
