The state of mind behind their practices. and a means to enlightenment
How do ethics affect buddhist lives
- gives them a sense of wholeness and pride
- liberates them from unhelpful habits
- act intelligantly
How are these actions classified?
Through the 5 precepts
What are the 5 precepts
- Refrain from causing harm
- Refrain from taking what is not feeely given
- Refrain from sexual misconduct
- Refrain from untruthfulness
- Refrain from clouding the mind with alcohol + drugs
state the positive perspective for refrain from causing harm (No killing)
Try to behave with : friendliness, understanding and loving kindness
State the positive principle for refrain from taking what is not freely given (No stealing)
Try to be generous and open minded as well as expanding awareness beyond our own wants

Cultivate wholesome contentment

They become authentic, open and honest.

Try to be as aware as possible

Don’t do anything we know will make mindfulness more difficult.
