Discuss how the film, Little Buddha, depicts Buddhism and its central teachings in the lives of the characters (pick a couple of main characters). Consider at least three of the doctrines we have studied in class and explain how they appear in the lives of the characters you have in mind. You must use specific examples to show what you mean. Show and tell me how a bare minimum of 3 doctrines from Buddhism appears in the film.
Jesse- The Noble Eightfold Path:
Jesse use to be an everyday city kid, but when he found out that he might lama dojy, he was course, he wanted to learn more about Buddhism, and its teachings. He learns the way of life as a Buddia by learning the Eightfold path. At the end of the movie, he gives the river lama deejays ashes, which shows he still cares and wants to practice Buddhism
Dean(jesses dad)- Dukka, and Suffering can be brought to cessation, to an end.
At first, Dean was sketched out by Buddhism, and the teachings, but when his best friend died, he wanted enlightenment, he found out that everyone is suffering also at the end of thtenmentenlighe movie he figures this out. so he goes to tibit with Jesse to find enlightenment, throughout the movie he gets higher and higher, then he finds that suffering can come to an end.
Jesse’s mom- Tanha, when the dean wants to go to tbit with Jesse to find salvation, Jesse’s mom was selfish, she made it all about her, and how what will I do. This is the reason why she stayed home, suffering is caused by selfish desires.

Three Marks of existence
Annata: “no-self”; no ultimate reality within, no essence underlying existence, no eternal substratum that is truly real. You’re, continually changing and, therefore, the person we are now is not the same person we were ten minutes ago, ten months, or ten years ago.
Anicca “impermanence”; closely related to anatta; the world is constantly changing. The self appears real and unchanging, but it too is an ongoing flow of thought, perfectioin, fears, hopes, and so on, that is constantly changing.
Dukka: “suffering” a natural result of anicca and annata, we are always are suffering.

- Dukka: Life is suffering, to live is suffering, it is impossible to escape dukkha,
- Tanha: desire thirst, or craving, suffering is caused by desire, Tanha implies selfish desire.
- Suffering can be brought to cessation, to an end
- The Noble Eightfold Path: Basic practices of Buddhism that lead to nirvana.
