When did Buddhism begin?
Around 500 BCE
Who was Siddittha?
He was a prince who had been locked in his palace all his life so he could not see suffering and when he was let out he saw a sick man, an old man, a dead man and a holy man.
What did Siddittha reach?
Enlightenment or nirvana.
What is the first noble truth?
Dukkha
Bad things happen everywhere all the time
What is the second noble truth?
Dukkha is caused by greed and selfishness. Rebirth is selfish.
What is the third noble truth?
Greed and selfishness can be stopped by enlightenment.
What is the fourth noble truth?
The way to reach enlightenment is by following the noble eight fold path.
