Early life of Siddhartha’s Gautama
Siddhartha Gautama was born as a prince in Lumbini, Nepal. He lived a sheltered life in luxury, isolated from the suffering of the world, and was unaware of human suffering until he encountered the Four Passing Sights.
Four passing sights
- An old man (representing aging)
- A sick man (representing illness)
- A dead body (representing death)
- A wandering ascetic (representing the search for enlightenment)
