What is the siddartha?
Siddhartha: Founder and one who has attained their goal.
What is metta?
Metta: Means benevolence, loving-kindness, friendliness, amity, good will, and active interest in others.
What is suffering?
Suffering: Desire and ignorance lie at the root of suffering.
What is the buddha?
Buddha: ‘awakened’, is conferred on an individual who discovers the path to nirvana.
What is the middle way?
The middle way: Understanding of practical life, avoiding the extremes of self-denial and self-indulgence, as well as the view of reality that avoids the extreme positions of enternalisms and annihilationism.
What is the 8 fold path?
8-Fold path: Teaching of the means of attaining Nirvana through rightness of belief, resolve, speech, action, livelihood, effort, thought, and meditation see four noble truths.
What is nirvana?
Nirvana: “Becoming extinguished” The extinction of desire, hatred, and ignorance and, ultimately, of suffering and rebirth.
What is meditation?
Meditation: The practice of mental concentration leading ultimately through a succession of stages to the final goal of spiritual freedom, nirvana.
What is the four noble truths?
Four Noble Truths: The truth of suffering, the truth of the cause of suffering, the truth of the end of suffering, and the truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering.
What is the tripitaka?
Tripitaka: Record of the words of the Buddha.
