Progressive overload, Specificity, Individual needs/differences, Adaptation, Reversibility, Variation, Rest and recovery
What is Progressive Overload?
Increasing the demand in training causing your body to adapt in order to progress and improve your performance
What is Specificity?
Training specifically to your preferred sport of activity
What is Individual needs/differences?
training designed to suit an individuals needs/differences
What is Adaptation?
Adaptation occurs during the recovery period. Its where your body increases its ability to cope with the training
What is Rest and Recovery?
It allows your body to repair and adapt
What is Reversibility?
It is when training affects are reversed due to a lack of training or injury. Also known as de-training
What is Variation?
Varring you training session to prevent boredom
