what did the Milan Conference mean for sign language

A

it was in 1880
it had educators of the deaf and One deaf person; it decided that sign language was inferior for teaching and oral methods should be used (lip reading)

sign language was then Banned in school which worsened education standard especially for the profoundly deaf

when were the consequences of the Milan conference reversed

A

the impacts were later recognized and sign language was again allowed in institutions and schools

only in 2010 the International Congress on the Education of the Deaf (ICED) finally voted to reject all resolutions of the Milan Conference
