Bruner’s theory
Children gradually acquire cognitive skills that which are referred to as ‘modes of cognitive representation’ or modes of thinking.
Children are born with a biological structure which means that thinking and cognitive development are linked to maturation.
Scaffolding
Explains the role that adults could play in developing a child’s thinking. Adults can find ways to support children’s thinking by for example simplifying a task or asking questions so that little by little the children can understand the concept
