Q

What is the story of EIC

A

A group of English merchants started the East India Company in 1600. After a slow start they set up three trade ins bases at Bombay , madras and Calculla. At first the company was not interested in take ins over any land. Then in 1707 , the death of Mughal emporor Anrangzeb led to a power vacuum. Wars broke out between rival princes. French traders helped the princes win battles and in return the princes would promise to trade with them. In 1750 British trade in India seemed to be doomed. The French and Indian princes they support were in the verge of complete victory.
