Temple Meads in the centre of Bristol, near river Avon.
What is the plan supposed to do?
Make the area more sustainable, flourishing, more welcoming to live, work, study and spend leisure time, and to make Bristol a more equal city.
How many jobs and homes will be created when they redevelop the train station?
22,000 jobs and 10,000 new homes over 25 years.
How much money will the redevelopments of the train station generate?
£1.6 billion each year.
What is Temple Gate and what are the plans for it?
The main access to Temple Square, and will have a more direct layout, more space, new pedestrian and cycle routes, and better public transport facilities.
What do they plan to do about the new campus?
£300 million investment over 7 acres, seven new buildings will be built, accommodation for 15,000 students and 800 members of staff, and a new £43 million Quantum Technologies Information Centre.
How much money will be invested into the Temple Meads railway station?
£2 billion to double the usage from 11 million to over 22 million.
How much money will be spent on infrastructure and what will it pay for?
£20 million and will include, St Philips Footbridge, Brock’s Bridge, MetroWest, and MetroBus.
What is the purpose in Temple Meads East?
To connect the station to a station in the east, get more retail and leisure uses, improved public and ticketed areas, and an enhanced transport interchange system.
What else will be improved?
Temple Square will be redeveloped, Engine Shed 2 will be redeveloped, and a new green area called Temple Greenways.
How many jobs has it created so far?
3,000 jobs
How many businesses have opened in the enterprise zone?
300 such as some of the top 50 law firms.
What has been done so far?
Work has been started in Temple Gate and in Cattle Market Road.
What effect has this had?
Many tourists have been attracted, and the city has become more equal.
