Universal Anemia Screening
All infants at 12 months should be screened for anemia by determining hemoglobin concentration
Selective Anemia Screening
Infants should be screened for anemia if
@ 4 months: - prematurity, low birth weight, use of low-iron formula or infant not receiving iron-fortified formula, early introduction of cows milk
@ 15,18 months, 2,2.5y, 3,4,5 year: at risk of iron deficiency because of special health needs, low iron diet (eg. nonmeat diet), environmental factors (poverty, limited access to food)
@6,10years: children who consume a strict vegetarian diet and are not receiveing an iron supplement, enviormental factors
@11-21years: starting in adolescence, screen all non-pregnant females for anemia every 5-10 years throughout their childbear years during routine health examinations, annually screen for anemia in females having risk factors for iron deficiency (ex. extensive menstrual or other blood loss, low iron intake, or a previous diagnosis of iron deficiency anemia), enviromental factors
Universal Autism Screening
Administer ASD specific screening tool at the 18 month and 2 year health visit in addition to general developmental screen
Universal Blood Pressure Screening
Blood pressure screening should be included in vital signs for all visits beginning at the 3 year visit.
Screening for high blood pressure begins at 18 years of age

Universal Cervical Dysplasia Screening
Screening for cervical dysplasia utilizing cytology screening starts at age 21 years
Universal Depression Screening
Screening for Major Depressive Disorder should start at 12 years of age and continue every year
12 years - 21 years
Universal Maternal Depression Screening
Maternal Depression Screening should occur at 1, 2, 4, and 6 month visits
Universal Development Screening including Neuromotor screening
Gross Motor Development Screening should occur at 9, 18, and 2.5 year visits
Universal Dyslipidemia Screening
Universal prepubertal cholestorl screening. A fasting lipoportine profile (total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and trigelyceride) should be obtained before pubertal onset and in late adolescence
Once between 9 -11 years and Once between 17 -21years
