Engine Start brief
Copilot get an ICS check with the aft observer prior to starting each engine. Ensure we have permission to start engines from ground. In case of an emergency requiring ground assistance, contact ground using our side number and parking spot. The start sequence will be 2, 1, 3 and 4. For 2 and 1, I’ll be outside Monitoring for rotation and the lineman. You’ll be backing up the flight engineer. For 3 and 4, we’ll swap duties. We’ll both be timing the starts. FE, select and start each engine on my command and handle all malfunctions IAW NATOPS
Single Generator Brief
If there is a fire on engine number 2 prior to getting another generator online, copilot, request assistance from ground, and FE, you shall discharged both HRD bottles before pulling the emergency shutdown handle.
