- Senate held a trial to decide if Trump should be removed from office
- after nearly three weeks, Senate voted to let the president remain in office
- only two other U.S. presidents have ever been impeached:
- Andrew Johnson in 1868
- Bill Clinton in 1998
- neither were removed from office
