- Number of European workers is falling-> tighter immigration laws + Value of pound (and UK salaries decrease).
o Implementation of 7 day NHS deters EU staff for signing longer hours
- UK expatriates living in the EU may leave to return to the UK due to losing their rights to live in the EU. 200 000 are aging population
Stockpiling medicine
- Some stockpilies of drugs and medical supplies that were earmarked for dealing with a potential no-brexit deal have been used during coronavirus pandemic
- Members of pharmaceutical industries are warning that they may not sufficiently rebuild stockpiles before the 31st of december
- If the Uk does not remain in the customs union or leaves with no deal, this may lead to border disruptions and delays, jepordising pharmaceutical supply chains and affecting a large proportion of medication.
