Put hands on patient and ask them to speak vowel or low frequency sounds to feel vibrations
Look for assymetery
Pleural effusion = decrease vibration
Consolidation = increase
Hyperresonace or dullness during percussion
Can indicate a pleural effusion or solid in the lung
Obstructive lung disease = hard to ?
Exhale
Wheezes
Produced during exhalation as air is forced through narrowed pathways
Bronchoconstriction
Edema
Bronchiestasis
Bronchitis
Crackles
From opening of collapsed alveoli
Fibrosis

Pulmonary fibrosis
Sound that a dense consolidation would conduct in sounds of the central bronchi

Pleural effusion
