BREAST CA STAGE IV Flashcards
Combination of therapies customized to the nature and stage of the disease in each individual patient:
-Surgery
-Chemotherapy
-Radiation therapy
-Targeted therapy
-Hormonal therapy
-Immunotherapy
Initial Management:
– Assist patients through the complicated parts of their diagnosis and care, making sure they understand what’s going on and are involved in making decisions.
– Assess and address symptoms such as pain, fatigue, nausea, and psychological distress through a combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.
– Prepare the patient for the adverse effect of chemotherapy and prepare them for its effects.
– Communicate effectively with oncologists, surgeons, radiation therapists, and other specialists to ensure that patients receive timely and appropriate interventions tailored to their individual needs.
Diagnostic and laboratory tests:
A blood test used to evaluate the overall health and detect a wide range of disorders, including anemia, infection, and leukemia.
COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT WITH PLATELET COUNT
Diagnostic and laboratory tests:
An imaging test that uses x rays to see images of the heart, lungs, blood arteries, airways, and the bones in the spine and chest. Chest x-rays can also show air surrounding a lung or fluid in or around the lungs.
CHEST PA/LATERAL
CHEST XRAY
Diagnostic and laboratory tests
A test that uses chemical processes to measure levels of chemical components in body fluids and tissues. The most common specimens used in clinical chemistry are blood and urine.
CLINICAL CHEMISTRY
Diagnostic and laboratory tests
Creatine kinase -MB and troponin I level in the blood. This combination test provide a more comprehensive assessment of cardiac health and helps in the diagnosis of cardiac condition, particularly acute coronary syndrome such as myocardial infarction
CK-MB TROPONIN I DUO- CK-MB
Diagnostic and laboratory tests
is a medical test that records heartbeats using nodes or leads that are affixed to the body. The electrical activity of the heart is recorded using electrocardiograms, often known as ECGs, and transferred on graph paper.
12-LEAD ELECTROCARDIOGRAM- ECG
Diagnostic and laboratory tests
Procedure performed to obtain a sample of tissue or cell from a person’s body for examination under a microscope
