Removes extensive benign disease or as palliative measure for ulcerated advanced breast cancer.
What is a modified radical mastectomy?
Removal of involved breast and all axillary contents.
Underlying pectoral muscle not removed
Specimens sent for hormone receptor studies.
What is a radical mastectomy?
Remove breast tissue Axillary nodes Pectoral is muscle Fascia Fat Adjacent
How is the skin prep for breast sx done?
Above clavicle to umbilicus
Opposite nipple to bed
