What was the Act of Restraint of Appeals?

A

Start of the political process to transfer power of the Catholic Church to the King. Passed by Parliament it was anti-clerical and listed grievances against the church. Since Parliament had passed the act it looked as if the it was the people who wanted to break with Rome.
