Key significance of 1832 is precedent for reform and removal of corruption is set. Tories fears that reform in 1832 would inevitably open door to further reform proved accurate.

Franchise still restricted to owners of property
Landed elite still dominate political life- strengthens aristocratic control of counties with Chandos Clause and successfully unites the top m/c with landed gentry.
