Clear representation of the addiction of soma and therefore the control the state have over everyone taking soma, as they’re supplying it

Being surprised that someone hasn’t “had” someone shows the beliefs within the state over not having relationships

Shows the class system within society and the benefits of being an alpha instead of an epsilon or a gamma

This therefore links to the stupidity of a class system, as men are equal, however due to class they’re treated in very different ways

Again links to class system and the idea that all epsilons are mad due to the conditions and being surrounded with people who are also going mad.
