temporal lobe
controls functions like hearing, stores long-term memories, speech and language understanding
auditory complex
responsible for sense of hearing

controls all aspects of vision (primary visual cortex)
visual cortex
receives images from the eyes and transformed into meaningful stimuli
broca’s area
area in the left frontal lobe that directs muscle movements involved in speech
wernicke’s area
area in the left temporal lobe that is involved in language comprehension and expression
left hemisphere
controls speech, verbal memory, language and sounds
right hemisphere
geometry, sense of direction, emotional tone of speech, non-verbal memory, non-language sounds and music
brain (neuro) plasticity
